In a move impacting millions of customers, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, two of India’s top telecom providers, have announced substantial increases in their prepaid and postpaid plan tariffs. Effective July 3, these changes aim to adjust rates while preserving the benefits of data, unlimited calls, and SMS.

Overview of Tariff Changes

Reliance Jio has implemented increases of up to 22%, while Airtel has raised rates by around 15%. Despite these hikes, both companies ensure the continuation of existing benefits.

Monthly Prepaid Plans

  • Jio’s ₹189 Plan: Now offers 2 GB of data with unlimited calls for 28 days (previously ₹155).
  • Airtel’s ₹199 Plan: Includes 2 GB of data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day for 28 days (previously ₹179).
  • Other plans from both providers have also seen similar adjustments, offering varying data limits from 1 GB/day to 3 GB/day.

Two-Month Prepaid Plans

  • Jio’s ₹579 Plan: Provides 1.5 GB/day with unlimited calls for 56 days (previously ₹479).
  • Airtel’s ₹579 Plan: Matches Jio’s offering with the same data, calling, and SMS benefits.

Three-Month Prepaid Plans

  • Jio’s ₹479 Plan: Offers 6 GB of data, unlimited calling, and 100 SMS per day over 84 days (previously ₹395).
  • Airtel’s ₹509 Plan: Includes similar benefits with a slight price increase (previously ₹455).

Annual Prepaid Plans

  • Jio’s ₹1899 Plan: Now offers 24 GB of data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day for 336 days (previously ₹1559).
  • Airtel’s ₹1999 Plan: Provides the same benefits over 365 days (previously ₹1799).

Data Add-On Plans

  • Jio’s ₹19 Plan: Now includes 1 GB of data (previously ₹15).
  • Airtel’s ₹22 Plan: Also offers 1 GB of data (previously ₹19).

Postpaid Plans

  • Jio’s ₹349 Plan: Offers 30 GB of data with unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day (previously ₹299).
  • Airtel’s ₹449 Plan: Provides 40 GB of data with rollover, unlimited calls, and additional benefits such as subscriptions to Xstream Premium, Disney+Hotstar, and Amazon Prime.
